Right before her arrival
Our baby girl was born June 16th at 5:15pm. She was 6lbs 5oz & 20 1/2 inches long. We are so excited to finally meet our little one, but she was born about 4 weeks early, so we havent been able to spend much time with her. She is currently in the NICU because her lungs are slightly immature. She has been breathing really fast and does a lot of grunting. She is just adjusting to the transition of being out of the womb. She had to come early via c-section because my amniotic fluid was really low and she needed to come out. It had something to do with my placenta aging and it being a hostile environment. I will be released Sunday, but she will most likely stay here in the NICU. I am waiting for the day that we can hold her, we've only been able to hold her little hand. She is not requiring oxygen but may need a ventilator. She has improved today and we're hoping it continues. She is beautiful, we are so in love with our bundle of joy. I really hope she can come home very, very soon. Please keep Gemma Marie in your thoughts and prayers!!
