Rj's Christmas Party

Last Friday was Rj's Christmas party. It is always so fun. His boss rents out a huge party room at this mexican restaurant and we eat yummy food and there is an open bar... I stuck with Sprite of course. They always play white elephant and its so funny watching all these boys get so excited about tools and steal from each other. His boss' wife always brings a Barnes N Noble gift card for those with children and for each child. So sweet! She is a librarian. She also always brings something for the girls. I always enjoy his Christmas party. He works for a good company. Everyone is so nice. I thought I'd post a picture from the party.
New Desk
My desk is on the right!
It's not finished yet!
I got a new desk; I am so excited. I am no longer in a cubicle :) It's caddy cornerned next to a tunnel so its like Im in my own office. Now, no more walking up and down the stairs constantly. I thought I'd post a couple pictures. Oh, the litte things in life!

We have a heartbeat
Rj and I heard the baby's heartbeat Saturday morning, there was no mistaking it. It fluctuated a bit, went from 148, then down. They say it could be a boy if its slower. We will see. Rj thinks its a boy. You can vote to the right on what you possibly think it is. I have no clue. We were so excited to finally hear something on the doppler and Im glad we were together. This makes it seem so much more real. I am 8 weeks and 3 days today, movin' along. Seems like our baby is doing alright so far, cant wait to meet him or her :)

First prenatel Appointment
Yesterday was my first prenatel appointment; I was glad to finally go see the Dr. They did all the necessary tests and if there are any issues they will contact me next week. They did say I seem as healthy as can be. However, it was too early to hear the babys heartbeat. They said in about 3 weeks we could, which puts us at Christmas. I think hearing the heartbeat would be a wonderful Christmas gift. My due date changed to July 16th and I will be 8 weeks tomorrow. The baby will be born after our wedding anniversary and before my birthday, what a wonderful way to celebrate both occassions. Looks like mommy will no longer be getting anniversary and birthday gifts ; ) I have been feeling good for the most part. I started feeling nauseas a couple of weeks ago and my diet has completely changed because of it. I have felt better the past few days though. The Dr said if I havent gotten morning sickness yet, I probably wont. It seems like my symptoms are getting a little better, they were never bad though. It's only the beginning! We just want to keep you posted on our lil BB's progress. I will be going back to the Dr in 4 weeks. Happy Holidays!!

Gobble, gobble
We want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving tomorrow!
I am thankful for my husband and thankful we have a precious baby on the way. I'm thankful for my parents, they really are the best; for my family, friends, doggies, home and my job. Enjoy your time off, as well as all of the food and most of all be thankful for what you have.

10 Things You Need To Know About Dealing With A Pregnant Woman
This is mostly for Rj :)
1. She probably has to pee, right at this moment
2. Her mood may change at any moment
...and then change back. Then back once more
3. Morning sickness does not just occur in the morning.
Some women may experiance morning sickness all day, or feel worse into the evening. Be sympathetic
4. She looks at you differently now.
This can work both ways, if you actively engage in preparing for the baby, she may love you more deeply. If you dont, she may be weary of your suitability as a father.
5. It takes a fraction of the time for her to get upset that it previously did.
Probably about the quarter of the time is used to.
6. You will hear the female anatomy discussed with unparalleled candor.
It will make you uncomfortable. Very uncomfortable. You wont look at women the same way.
7. She will get freaked out.
Probably by some article she read, it is your job to find another article that says the first article is wrong.
8. If you dont sympathize with her, you will drop in her estimation.
Demonstrate some empathy for her aches, pains, nausea and fears or your relationship will be strained.
9. Dont expect her to maintain her pre-pregnancy activity levels.
She tires easily and wont be able to keep up with her normal activities, from her job to anything she might do around the house. You will have more to do.
10. She has to pee again.
Seriously.

I have a few symptoms...bloated, more tired, increased appetite, more thirsty, moody and I've been forgetful. I cant complain. We are looking forward to watching Baby Patterson grow over the next 8 months. Im already so in love with this little baby. I will definatly keep you posted, probably after the 1st appointment.

Expanding our home by 2 feet!
It's blurry, but this reads: PREGNANT; I also took 3 others
This is how I broke the news to Rj; I gave him this framed poem from the "baby", along with a onsie that reads "Daddy's Little Monkey" I knew he'd love it, because he calls my monkey. Here is the poem:
I do not have a face to see, or put inside a frame. I do not have soft cheeks to kiss; I don't yet have a name. You can't yet hold my tiny hands, nor whisper in my ear. It's still too soon to sing a song, or cuddle me so near. But all will change come July 14th 2010; that's when they say I’m due. I'm your new son or daughter; I can't wait till I meet you. All I ask between now and then is your patience while I grow. I promise I'll be worth the wait, because of all the love we'll know. So what I have to give you now, is a wish to you from me. I cannot wait to be a part of this wonderful family!
New mommy & daddy to be!!!!!We are so happy to announce that we are expecting our first baby. We found out yesterday and according to online the baby's due date is July 14th, 2010 and Im about 4 weeks tomorrow. I will make my first Dr's appointment around the 6-8 week mark. As of now, I do not really have any symptoms. It still feels make believe. I am looking forward to this beautiful adventure. This will make my dad a first time Grandpa and Rj's mom a first time Grandma. So exciting. My mom is very excited as her other grandchildren are grown now. I have been waiting for this moment my whole life. We cant wait to meet Baby Patterson!

Race for the Cure
I participated in the Race for the Cure Saturday October 17th. It went really well; it seemed as though there were more people this year; which is always great. I got there at about 5:30am and helped set up our Toni & Guy booth. We handed out over 700 goodie bags, raffled off pink flat irons and were doing make up touch ups and bang trims for anyone interested. Our booth is always a big hit. I did the 5k walk with our company President; the weather was beautiful. I will probably participate every year. I really enjoy it and maybe some of you can join me someday ; )
Special thanks to those who have donated; Janet and my dad. It's not too late to donate; any amount helps and is much appreciated. Just visit my page to make a donation:

Some good
Its that time of year again, for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. It's this Saturday, October 17th. I participated last year for the first time and it was a very good experiance for me and I have joined again this year. I am also helping our PR team with the Toni & Guy booth. We will be giving free fringe trims and make up touch ups to all the participants. If you're interested in participating and joining our TONI&GUY team (you dont have to be an employee to join), then let me know and we can walk/jog together! Or if you'd like to sign up individually or simply just make a donation, thats great too. I'd be happy to provide more information if needed. I will post pictures from the event next week.

Let it Be

Live & Let Die
Hey JudeThe concert was incredible. I have never been more entertained in my life. I dont think any event will ever top it. Paul played for 2 hours and 40 minutes...2 Encores! He talked a lot, he was funny and has a great personality. It seems as though he is speaking to you and only you. The show was incredible. He did John, George & Jimi tribute's.
