Yesterday

Yesterday for Memorial Day, we mostly relaxed. My dad came over with his dogs and hung out for a bit. I took some really great pics that I wanted to share; but somehow deleted them by mistake. Im very upset about it. Oh well, there will be more : ( Rj & I BBQ'd some burgers & hot dogs, because we were craving BBQ.

We saw Terminator Salvation, it was good; lots of action. Its a major boy movie. I probably wouldnt watch it again. However, Christian Bale is muy caliente. My plans to lay out were ruined by the weather, so I did a little shopping. Then I took my mom for a mani/pedi for her Mothers Day gift, now that she is up & running. That was nice, just relaxing with her getting our nails done. Cleaned a little... go me! Thats about it... nothing too exciting. I hope everyone had a nice weekend! Now we have a short work week. I go back to the Urologist this Friday for a follow up. After all I went through, I still have an overactive bladder. Joy!

Dakota Storm

My dad had an art show in San Diego yesterday; his good friend Rebecca Greene hosted it while my dad is here.

It was for the:
Center of Community Solutions
Healing and Protecting Sexual Assault
and Relationship Violence.

It was a silent auction and he sold 6 out of 7 pieces!!!! Thats so amazing. He donated his share to the charity. There will be another art show with his work and he is entering 20 pieces.

Go dad, you rock!!! What a great thing you're doing!

Memorial Day Weekend

It's Memorial Day Weekend... Dont forget they gave their tomorrow's for our today's!

I hope everyone has some exciting plans. Today we're having food day & I get off early. Then, I am doing my moms hair. Fun! Saturday, I plan to lay out with my friend... hopefully the 40% chance of rain does not ruin that for me. We may go see the new Terminator, Rj is super stoked about it. As for me, well Christian Bale is easy on the eyes ; ) I may clean around the house... maybe. Hopefully, I can crash a BBQ somewhere, because that sounds superb. Enjoy your long weekend. Happy Memorial Day weekend!

Today...

I made a donation in Guy Mascolo's memory to the American Heart Association. That made me feel good to contribute to someone who was so dear to us.

If you would like to visit Guy's memory page or make a donation, please click on the link below.

Guy Mascolo was highly respected in the world of hairdressing. A tremendously popular and generous character, he was loved by everyone who met him and had an enormous amount of compassion - a quality the Italians describe as 'simpatico.' He was a huge family man, and is survived by wife Flora, sons Guy Junior and Zak (who is the Creative Director of TONI&GUY New York) and daughters Emanuella and Zara.

Guy was a keen sportsman with a passion for soccer. He was also a talented musician. Guy was a brilliant guitarist who over the years both wrote and produced music for himself and others. He was also a very good artist, and often sold his paintings to raise money for charities. Another of his many talents was cooking. Anyone who was fortunate enough to sample Guy's 'Sugo Napoletano' would agree it was the best they had ever tasted.

With such a passion for life, it is a cruel fate that Guy has been taken from us, at a point in his life when he had so much to live for and enjoy.

But most of all Guy Mascolo was known by all as a beautiful man and that is how he will be remembered.

Mom

Ladybug

We spent 20 hours with mom at the hospital on Friday. She had to get reconstructive surgery on her mouth along with stiches. Her right arm got pretty mangled during the incident. She was stiched up there as well. She was released early Saturday morning around 1:30am. She is in the comfort of her own home and is healing. Her male dog, Bug that survived did get a couple of bites, but is expected to be ok. As far as Ladybug, she is in Heaven with her brother Bugsy. My mom is in good spirits and is the strongest person I've ever met. She has been through so much and this is one of the most traumatic. I am thankful that she is here with us and I am thankful she has so many people around that care for her. Thank you for all of your thoughts, prayers, calls, emails and comments.

Guy

In accordance with his family's request, we have set up a memorial fund in Guy's name on the American Heart Association website (click on the link below)

Please help make a difference by contributing in memory of our loved one. Thank you for your support. Sincerely, Toni & Guy family.

On Friday there was a worldwide balloon release at noon in Guy's memory. Every Toni & Guy Academy, salon and office participated. I regretfully missed it, however I had a co-worker release a balloon for me. I thought I'd post a picture from one of our many salons. I think it's a very beautiful picture.

My mom

My mom was attacked this morning by a Pit Bull, she was severly bitten and was lucky to walk away with her life. She was transfered by ambulance to the hospital. She will need plastic surgery on her face from bite wounds. She may have a broken wrist and her arm has puncture wounds. To make it worse her dog Ladybug was killed in the incident. The Pit Bull that attacked is now in the hands of the pound and is scheduled to be euthanized later today.

My mom is ok, but very traumatized and she is heartbroken.

Please keep my mom in your thoughts and prayers as she heals physically and mentally! I thank God she is still here with us.

Thanks Oprah!

If you didnt know already, Oprah bought everyone lunch in America! You get a 2 piece grilled chicken, cole slaw, mashed taters and a bisquit for free. I must say it was pretty darn good and worth the wait. It brightened my day a little.

Go get ya some free chicken! If you need the coupon let me know and I will email it to you.

In Memory of Guy Mascolo

Last night we lost someone really special in the Toni & Guy world and hairdressing industry. Guy Mascolo; 65, passed away in his home last night. Toni & Guy Hairdressing was founded in London over 40 years ago by Toni and Guy Mascolo, two Italian brothers who were later joined by their younger brothers, Bruno and Anthony and the international company has grown from a single salon into a worldwide concept with over 400 salons located around the globe.

He was an inspiration to so many. He was a wonderful hairdresser and very kind to all. I am thankful to have known him personally and I will never forget him. I will miss him pinching my cheeks every time I see him. He will be greatly missed by so many!!

Today is a very sad day at work. All of the salons, academys and offices are affected. We just had a moment of silence and we are going to have some sort of tribute for him tomorrow here at my building. I am still waiting on information for his funeral.

Please keep Guy's family & friends in your thoughts & prayers during this difficult time. Thank you!
